Mike Grajek is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and coach whose life is built on the foundation of Faith, Family, and Football.
In 2026, Mike was asked by his longtime friend, former college teammate, and brother-in-life, Ray Hosner, to serve as Assistant Head Coach over Offense for the Pine View High School Panthers. That same year, he was invited by another close friend and former teammate, Shawn Jones, to join the Board of Advisors for the new nationwide post–high school football league, THE NJCP.
In 2023, during the inaugural season of the post–high school program in St. George, Utah, legendary head coach Greg Croshaw named Grajek Offensive Coordinator and General Manager. Competing against nationally ranked junior colleges such as New Mexico Military Institute and Snow College (twice), the team finished 5–5 and helped more than 40 players advance to colleges and universities to continue their playing careers.
In 2024, the program’s second season, the team improved to 8–1 and again helped over 35 players move on to the next level. The 2025 season brought continued success, with additional student-athletes earning opportunities to play at colleges and universities.
Grajek’s coaching career began shortly after graduating from Southern Utah University in 1993. In his first year as a head coach, he led the Milford Tigers to the first football state championship in school history. He then became head coach of the Morgan Trojans, where over three seasons the team compiled a 20–10 record. In his final year at Morgan (1996), the Trojans were region champions, state runners-up, and finished 11–1.
Over the next 20 years, Grajek served as an assistant coach at Las Vegas High School (under Kris Cinkovich and Chris Faircloth), Virgin Valley High School (under Kirk Hafen), Gunnison High School (under Yori Ludvigson), and South Summit High School (under Jerry Parker). He credits these respected head coaches for shaping his philosophy of serving young men through football and for influencing the success he has experienced throughout his career. During that span, multiple state championships were won.
In nine years as a head coach, Grajek’s teams reached the state championship game five times, winning three titles. Throughout his career as a head coach and assistant coach, he has been part of 13 state championship appearances and seven state championship victories.
In 2016, Coach Grajek was named head coach of the South Summit Wildcats. During his five seasons there, the Wildcats compiled a 48–10 record, finished as state runners-up in 2016, and won back-to-back state championships in 2017 and 2018. The 2017 team went 12–0, becoming the first South Summit team in school history to complete an undefeated season.
Raised in Moscow, Idaho, in a single-parent home alongside his mother and three sisters, Grajek developed resilience and determination at an early age. A graduate of Moscow High School, he was a multi-sport athlete who started on the varsity football and basketball teams during both his junior and senior years. He credits his high school football coach, Eric Bjorkman, and basketball coach, Rick Sweeney, for instilling discipline, teamwork, respect, and a love for the game—relationships he continues to value today.
After high school, Grajek played quarterback at Western Montana College under Don Christensen, earning a starting role as a freshman and starting every game as a sophomore. While waiting for his mission call, he participated in spring football at the University of Idaho under Head Coach Keith Gilbertson. He then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Perth, Australia.
Upon returning home, he attended Southern Utah University as a redshirt player under Jack Bishop before transferring back to Western Montana College to complete his junior and senior seasons under head coaches Mick Dennehy and Mick Delaney. Inspired by the coaches who shaped his life, Grajek committed himself to following in their footsteps—helping young men become successful husbands, fathers, and leaders.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University and later completed a Master’s degree in Education from Grand Canyon University.
Coach Grajek and his wife, Teddi (Hughes), a native of Mesquite, Nevada, have been married for 32 years. They have five children—four of whom are married—and five grandchildren, with their first granddaughter on the way. Their growing family includes McCall (Brandon) Cohen and grandsons Kobe and Luka; Josie (Caleb) Peterson and grandsons Marshall and Ledger; Parker (Abby) Grajek; Genna (Randy) Maldonado; their soon-to-arrive granddaughter; and their youngest daughter, Maya Grajek, who is currently single.
For Coach Grajek, success has always been about more than wins and championships. It is about building men of character and living by the motto that defines his life:
