Micah Deckart begins his tenure as Head Coach of the Idaho Outlaws in 2026.

A former standout tight end with a decorated playing career and deep coaching roots, Coach Deckart brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a passion for developing young athletes to the program.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s of Accountancy from Southern Utah University (1994–1997), where he was recognized as a 1st Team All-American Tight End by American Football Quarterly. Earlier, at Dixie Junior College (1992–1994), he earned 1st Team All-Conference honors and the Scholar Athlete Award, balancing elite performance on the field with academic excellence.

Coach Deckart’s playing career took him across borders and leagues. He played and coached for the Eidsvoll 1814s in Eidsvoll, Norway, gaining international perspective and experience in building programs. He then competed for three seasons with the Idaho Stallions of the Indoor Professional Football League in Boise, demonstrating his durability and skill at the professional level.

In recent years, Coach Deckart has dedicated himself to youth and high school development in the Boise area. For the last eight years, he has coached 7v7 and Friday Night Flag teams, honing skills in competitive, fast-paced environments. Most recently, he served as the receivers coach for the Boise High School 9th grade team, focusing on route running, hands work, blocking, and building confidence in young players.

Known for his player-first philosophy, emphasis on fundamentals, discipline, work ethic, and holistic growth—both athletic and academic—Coach Deckart is committed to fostering leadership, accountability, and a winning culture. His unique blend of high-level playing success, international exposure, professional experience, and local Boise ties makes him ideally suited to elevate the Idaho Outlaws program and guide players toward success on the field and beyond.

A longtime resident of Boise, Idaho, Coach Deckart is excited to lead the Idaho Outlaws and create an environment of pride, toughness, and championship aspirations.
